Sunridge Partners (UK), LLP (“Sunridge”), a specialist food and agriculture investment group, helping companies become clear industry leaders, today announced the creation of a new European producer of citrus fruits, Sunridge Citrus, following the acquisition of CIOR – an organic-only packer of citrus.

Sunridge Citrus is a leading European producer and distributor of citrus fruits with headquarters in Valencia, Spain. The company has been formed following the merger of existing Sunridge portfolio company Albenfruit with CIOR. The newly formed Sunridge Citrus is a key service provider to European food retailers, supplying differentiated, sustainable, and affordable fresh citrus products.

Sunridge Partners began its broader platform play in 2020 when it acquired Albenfruit, a business well-regarded for its operational excellence and fruit quality. Last year, Albenfruit expanded its reach and relevance to European food retailers through the acquisition of CIOR, adding new organic varieties to its already impressive list of citrus fruits.

The combined business’s more than 80 years of experience in the citrus sector guarantees the quality of its products. Sunridge’s citrus fruits are produced following traditional cultivation techniques, but applying the best technology at the service of the consumer – a sum of learning and innovation that results in the best possible products.

Philipp Saumweber, Managing Partner of Sunridge Partners, said: “Sunridge Citrus benefits from a number of positive secular consumer trends and we, at Sunridge Partners, are bullish for the future of the European citrus market. The more time we spend with the management team, the more impressed we are. We are extraordinarily excited for the future of the company and continue to support the next phase of the company’s growth and development.”
